Langkawi

Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah, is a district and an archipelago of 99 islands (+5 small islands visible only at low tide) in the Andaman Sea, located about 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, adjacent to the Thai border. Langkawi is renowned for its mystical legends and world-class beaches. The largest island, also known as Langkawi, is filled with picturesque jungle-clad hills that stretch down to an endless shoreline of beaches. The island is duty-free, making it a popular destination for shopping.

The capital of Langkawi is Kuah, which is the largest town on the island. The island’s most popular beach and tourist area is Pantai Cenang. Langkawi is a sunny tropical paradise, offering jungle-clad hills, sandy beaches, duty-free shopping, and swaying coconut trees. The island has a stable climate throughout the year, making it perfect for a vacation all year round. The best time to visit is during the dry season between December and February when it rarely rains.
